From first enquiry to the performance itself
01

Tell us the type of occasion, the date, the venue and roughly how many guests. You do not need to know the instrumentation yet.
02

We come back with two or three options for instrumentation and repertoire, each with its own budget.
03
Musicians confirmed
We book the players for the agreed ensemble, send you their profiles and set the rehearsal schedule.
04
On the day
We align sound, staging and cue sheets with your production team and run the performance on site.

Ensembles
If choosing the ensemble is the hard part, we will choose for you
The same budget buys a different ensemble depending on the size of the room, its reverberation and the number of seats. These are the ones most often chosen.
Piano trio
3 playersPiano · violin · cello
The most widely used chamber combination. The piano holds the centre while the strings carry the line, giving a wide range of volume and colour — equally at home as reception music or as a performance in its own right.
String quartet
4 players2 violins · viola · cello
The foundation of chamber music and the most formal of the small ensembles. It needs no piano, which makes it dependable for public ceremonies and outdoor occasions.
Piano quintet
5 playersPiano · 2 violins · viola · cello
Adding piano to the string quartet widens both the volume and the palette considerably. The choice when the audience is over two hundred or the hall has a long reverberation.
Small ensemble
2–6 playersDuo, trio, or mixed winds and strings
Instruments combined to suit the room, the budget and the occasion. Winds such as flute or clarinet brighten the colour; a string-led group keeps it quieter and more reflective.
With voice
Varies with the ensembleInstrumental ensemble with soprano, tenor or baritone
Words carry further than instruments alone. Where there are speeches or a clear theme to the occasion, sung text delivers the message directly.
Orchestral collaboration
Scaled to the occasionChamber orchestra and larger
For large official occasions and anniversaries. Stage size, sound and rehearsal scheduling all have to be designed together, so this is the one to ask about earliest.

FAQ
Questions we are asked before every booking
Three weeks before the date is a good guide. If the players we need happen to be free, much shorter notice can work, so do ask even at short notice and we will check availability the same day.
It depends on the number of players, the playing time, the travel and the rehearsal. Tell us the kind of occasion and roughly its scale, and we will give you a range first, then propose what is possible within it.
Making that choice is our job. Tell us what the occasion is for, where it is and how many guests there will be, and we will compare two or three suitable ensembles with their budgets.
No. We can use an ensemble that needs no piano, such as a string quartet, or include hire and tuning of an instrument suited to the space.
Yes. Costs vary with travel time and whether an overnight stay is needed, so give us the location and the quotation will include it.
Are you a musician?
Most engagements never get advertised. Register and we will contact you when a programme matches what you play. No fee, no exclusivity.
Tell us about the occasion and we will send a proposal within one working day
It does not matter if the date or venue is still open. We will start from whatever is already decided.
